Carlisle took over the Pacers pointer last season and led the team with a record of 25 wins and 57 losses, which is a huge gap compared with his previous career of nearly 54%.
When asked if he was worried that coaching the Pacers who are now in the reconstruction period would affect his coach’s resume, Carlisle said: “Back to the team, the job still looks the same as before, but the fact is that the team has indeed changed, which is very exciting for me. I don’t worry about personal records and other things, which is not the point. To do every job, you must find a way to make it better. My relationship with Pacers dates back to 1997. At that time, people also thought that this team was almost finished, but we played a good result together for three years. What I want to do with my colleagues now is to reshape the team’s culture, spirit and attitude.”
From 1997 to 2000, Carlisle served as a teaching assistant in Pacers for three years. From 2003 to 2007, Carlisle taught Pacers as coach for four years. Last season, he taught Pacers for the third time.
