When talking about whether his $14.4 million salary cut in the off-season this year has been praised by the outside world, Harden said, “No, but do you know? I don’t care (what the outside world thinks). People have always had stereotypes about me. They don’t really understand me.
“So I think they can say whatever they want. I don’t care at all. In terms of media, I will not say anything publicly. I don’t care, because I am very comfortable and confident in what I do on the court.”
During the offseason, Harden gave up the $47.4 million player option, reduced the salary by $14.4 million, and signed a 2-year contract worth $68.6 million with the team.
