The Celtics defender Marcus Smart pushed further: “I have always been given unlimited favor. I really can’t believe this is my ninth season. I miss my mother every day. All this is for my mother and family. I am as excited and Young as before, and I am ready for the team’s new season. We will see our fans again. Let’s go to training & Competition.”
Smart’s mother was diagnosed with MDS (simply speaking, bone marrow cancer), and then died of illness.
In the 2021-22 season, smart played 71 games in the regular season, with 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.7 steals; 21 playoff games, 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.2 steals. With the excellent performance of the defensive end, Smart was elected as the best defensive player of the year.
